Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour your cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and sugar until well blended.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add in the milk and melted butter. Mix until combined.
  4. Gradually stir the wet ingredients into the dry, mixing gently until just combined. Do not overmix!
  5. Fold in any extras like chocolate chips or fruit lightly.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow cooling before frosting or serving.
