Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour your cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and sugar until well blended.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add in the milk and melted butter. Mix until combined.
- Gradually stir the wet ingredients into the dry, mixing gently until just combined. Do not overmix!
- Fold in any extras like chocolate chips or fruit lightly.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow cooling before frosting or serving.
