Ingredients

For the filling
  • 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced For tartness
  • 4 Honeycrisp apples, peeled and sliced For sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon For classic warmth
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg For a hint of nutty spice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice To brighten the flavors
  • 1/2 cup sugar To sweeten
  • 2 tablespoons butter To add richness
For the crust
  • 1 store-bought pie crust For quick preparation

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and sugar. Mix it well to ensure each slice is coated.
  3. Roll out the store-bought pie crust and gently lay it in your pie dish, pressing it into the edges.
  4. Spoon in the apple mixture—that irresistible filling—and dot the top with little bits of butter for extra richness.
  5. Cover with another layer of pie crust. Seal the edges with a twist or crimp; cut several slits on top to let steam escape.
Baking
  1. Slide your pie into the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, until the apples are tender and the crust has turned a beautiful golden brown.
  2. Let it cool for a bit before slicing.
