Ingredients
  

For the pie filling
  • 6-8 pieces Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled and sliced)
  • 3/4 cup Sugar Adjust based on the sweetness of apples.
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour Used to thicken the filling.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon Adds a warm spice.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg Brings out the flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice For a zesty punch.
  • 1 tablespoon Butter To dot the top for richness.
For the crust and serving
  • 1 package Pie crusts Contains 2 crusts.
  • 1 scoop Vanilla ice cream Essential for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. Roll out your bottom pie crust and place it into a 9-inch pie pan.
  4. Fill the crust with the apple mixture and dot the top with pieces of butter.
  5. Cover with the top crust and make slits for steam to escape.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  2. Reduce the heat to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30 to 40 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and apples are soft.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
