Dough ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 pack vanilla cake mix (about 15.25 oz)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast (about 2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup warm milk Use warm for better yeast activation
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
Filling ingredients
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened For spreading over the dough
Topping ingredients
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting For drizzling over the rolls
  • to taste Rainbow sprinkles For garnish

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, cake mix, sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Stir gently.
  2. Pour in the warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Dust your countertop with flour and knead the dough for about 6-8 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour, until doubled in size.
Filling and Baking
  1. Once risen, roll the dough out into a rectangle and spread the softened butter over the surface.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture generously over the butter.
  3. Carefully roll the dough from the long side into a tight log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  4. Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish and allow them to rise again for about 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Once cool, drizzle the cream cheese frosting over the top and sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles.
