  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk Can substitute with almond milk.
  • 1 cup cream cheese Can substitute with dairy-free cream cheese.
  • 1 cup blueberries Fresh or frozen.
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Butter For greasing the dish.
  • Powdered sugar For serving (optional).

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Grease the baking dish generously with butter.
  2. Tear the French bread into bite-sized pieces and spread half in the bottom of the dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Pour half of the egg mixture over the first layer of bread and let it soak for a few minutes.
  5. Dollop bits of cream cheese and sprinkle blueberries evenly over the surface.
  6. Add the remaining bread pieces on top, gently pressing them down.
  7. Pour the remaining egg mixture over all, ensuring every piece of bread is soaked.
  8. Cover and refrigerate overnight or bake immediately at 350°F (175°C) for 45-50 minutes until puffed and golden.

Notes
