Ingredients
  

For the Spice Mix
  • 1.5 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or mixed herbs
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
For the Base
  • 2-3 medium potatoes Washed and cut into chips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Divided
  • 500 grams lean beef mince
Toppings
  • 1 cup Lettuce Shredded
  • 1 cup Cheese Dairy-free or regular
  • 1 cup Pickle slices
For the Burger Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard Dijon or yellow
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice From the jar of pickles
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, stir together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper to create the spice mix.
  2. Wash and cut the potatoes into chips, then pat them dry to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, toss the chips with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and half of the spice mix, ensuring everything is well-coated.
Cooking
  1. Bake the chips on a baking tray in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30-40 minutes, or air fry for about 20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the remaining olive oil in a frying pan, add the beef mince, and cook until browned. Sprinkle in the remaining spice mix and cook until the moisture evaporates.
  3. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, and the additional garlic powder and smoked paprika to create the burger sauce.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the Burger Bowls by placing a generous portion of potatoes in each bowl, followed by shredded lettuce, beef, cheese, and pickles.
  2. Drizzle the burger sauce on top to finish.
