Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion until it is fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In the prepared baking dish, layer half of the cabbage, followed by the beef mixture, cooked rice, diced tomatoes, and the remaining cabbage.
- Pour the beef broth over the top and cover the dish with foil.
Cooking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
For added flavor, layer the ingredients carefully and let the casserole rest for about 10 minutes before serving. Serve with a fresh garden salad or garlic bread.
