  • 1 lb chicken sausage, sliced Can substitute with turkey sausage or other proteins.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1.5 cups orzo pasta
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 0.5 cups grated Parmesan cheese For garnishing and flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sliced chicken sausage until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Stir in the broccoli florets and soften slightly for a couple of minutes.
  4. Add the orzo pasta and pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes until orzo is tender and broth is absorbed.
  5. Return the chicken sausage to the skillet and mix gently. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper.
