  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Enhances flavor
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce For saltiness and umami
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch Thickens the sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth Adds richness
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Balances flavors

Method

Preparation
  1. Combine the soy sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Add the flank steak to the skillet and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove steak and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add minced ginger and garlic, then sliced bell peppers. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until peppers begin to soften.
  3. Return the steak to the skillet, pour in the soy sauce mixture, and stir everything together until the sauce thickens.
  4. Season with sugar, salt, and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
Serving
  1. Serve hot over rice or noodles. Optionally, top with sesame seeds or sliced green onions.

Notes

For variations, try adding different vegetables or using chicken instead of beef. Marinating the steak enhances flavor and tenderness.
