Ingredients
  

For the meatballs
  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Use gluten-free breadcrumbs if necessary.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the sauce
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Place the sliced onions at the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Pour the beef broth and French onion soup mix over the onions, stirring slightly to combine.
  4. Form the meat mixture into meatballs and place them on top of the onion mixture in the crockpot.
Cooking
  1. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.
  2. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley for a delightful presentation.
