Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
  3. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust.
Topping
  1. In another bowl, combine the softened butter, flour, and brown sugar; mix until crumbly.
  2. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  2. Lower the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for another 30-40 minutes.
  3. Look for tender apples and a golden brown topping.
