  1. In a large skillet, heat a splash of oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef, onion, and garlic, stirring until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Once the beef is cooked, stir in the long-grain rice, letting it absorb the flavors for about a minute.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and tomato sauce. Add a good pinch of salt and pepper, tasting as you go. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Cover the skillet and let everything simmer on low for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquids.
