Ingredients
  

For the casserole
  • 1 pound ground beef You can substitute with ground turkey or chicken if desired.
  • 1 cup cooked rice Leftover rice works perfectly.
  • 1 jar marinara sauce Use your favorite brand.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or mozzarella works well.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs For a satisfying texture.
  • 1 large egg To bind the mixture together.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning For flavor.
  • to taste N/A Salt and pepper For seasoning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice, breadcrumbs, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix the ingredients with your hands until just combined.
  4. Form the mixture into meatballs, roughly the size of a golf ball, and place them in a baking dish, nestled together.
  5. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
