  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon For a flavored twist, consider nutmeg or pumpkin spice.
Topping
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar To sprinkle on top before baking.
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon Combined with the granulated sugar for topping.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until evenly mixed.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined to avoid over-mixing.
  6. Pour the thick batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  7. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and remaining cinnamon, then sprinkle over the batter.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  2. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
