For Cooking
  • 4 slices thick bread brioche or challah recommended
  • 2 tablespoons butter for frying
For the Topping

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar for caramelizing apples
  • Maple syrup for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and pumpkin spice until well blended.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the pumpkin spice custard, ensuring they soak up that delicious mixture.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it bubbles softly.
  2. Place the soaked bread slices into the skillet. Cook until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  3. In another pan, sauté the sliced apples with brown sugar until they caramelize.
Serving
  1. Serve the French toast topped with caramelized apples, a drizzle of maple syrup, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
