  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar Can be substituted with coconut sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
Wet Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsalted butter Can be substituted with coconut oil for a dairy-free version
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Add-ins
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, melt the butter. Once fully melted, mix it with the eggs and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just blended. Be careful not to overmix!
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly to distribute them throughout the batter.
  6. Using a tablespoon, scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
Baking
  1. Place in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set while the centers remain soft.
