Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Feel free to swap for ground turkey or chicken.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds aromatic flavor.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional for heat.
  • 2 cups cooked rice To serve the beef mixture over.
  • 2 pieces green onions, sliced For topping.

Method

Cooking
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart, until it’s browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Toss in the minced garlic and cook for about a minute, just until it’s fragrant.
  3. Pour in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and optional red pepper flakes. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the beef.
  4. Spoon the beef mixture over warm, fluffy rice and top with sliced green onions.
