Preparation
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a vigorous boil. Add the ziti and cook until just al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Once done, drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it into small pieces while it cooks.
- Once the beef is no longer pink, pour in the marinara sauce. Stir and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the cooked ziti, followed by half of the meat sauce mixture.
- Spoon dollops of ricotta over the meat layer, then sprinkle mozzarella on top.
- Repeat layering with the remaining ziti and meat sauce, then top with the rest of the mozzarella and a dusting of Parmesan.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
