Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups bread cubes (stale is great here!) Stale bread works best for texture.
  • 2 cups cooked turkey (shredded) Use leftover turkey for convenience.
  • 2 tablespoons herbs (sage, thyme, parsley, fresh or dried) Fresh herbs enhance flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons butter (or olive oil for dairy-free) Butter adds richness.
  • 1 pound sausage (or plant-based sausage) Choose based on dietary preferences.
  • 2 tablespoons flour (or cornstarch for gluten-free) Helps thicken the mixture.
  • 1 cup cream Substitute with cashew/coconut cream if desired.
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning (salt and pepper to taste) Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 cup grated cheese (or dairy-free cheese) Cheese options can vary.
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (or chives) Adds freshness to the dish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your muffin tin.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the sausage and sauté until browned. If using plant-based sausage, cook until heated through.
  4. Stir in the flour (or cornstarch) and cook for another minute to create a roux.
  5. Gradually pour in the cream while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Allow it to thicken a bit, then season with salt and pepper.
Assembly
  1. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, shredded turkey, herbs, and chopped green onions.
  2. Pour the creamy sausage mixture over this and mix well.
  3. Spoon the mixture into the prepared muffin tin, pressing down slightly.
  4. Sprinkle cheese on top of each cup.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on top.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
