  • 15 oz 1 (15 oz) can of pumpkin puree Use pure pumpkin puree for better flavor.
  • 1 cup 1 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with lighter alternatives if needed.
  • 3/4 cup 3/4 cup brown sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup granulated sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 3 large 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice Use fresh spices if possible.
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 splash Secret ingredient (a splash of maple syrup or bourbon) This adds depth to the flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin puree, heavy cream, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, salt, and the secret ingredient. Mix well until everything is nicely blended.
  3. Pour the filling into your prepared pie crust.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 40 to 50 minutes, checking for doneness by inserting a knife into the center—it’s ready when it comes out clean.
  2. Cool the pie completely before serving to allow the filling to set up nicely.
