Preparation
- Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat.
 - In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, finely chopped red onion, and olive oil.
 - Sprinkle in the chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
 - Crack the egg into the mixture and mix well, using your hands or a spoon to ensure everything is evenly combined.
 - Shape the mixture into four equal patties, ensuring uniform size and thickness for consistent cooking.
 
Cooking
- Place the patties on the preheated grill or grill pan.
 - Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
 - While cooking, toast the whole wheat hamburger buns on the grill or in a separate pan for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
 - Once the patties are grilled to perfection, remove them and set aside.
 
Assembly
- Spread a thin layer of salsa on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
 - Add a turkey burger patty on top of the salsa.
 - Finish with sliced avocado and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro, then close with the top half of the bun.
 - Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
