Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb tender steak (flank steak or ribeye) Season with salt and pepper
  • 2 cups sushi rice Cook according to package instructions
  • 2.5 cups water For cooking rice
  • 1 medium avocado, sliced
  • 1 medium cucumber, sliced
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
Sauce and Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar For flavoring the rice
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil For flavoring the rice
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1-2 tbsp Sriracha Adjust to taste
  • Sesame seeds For garnish

Method
 

Cooking Rice
  1. Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions using water.
  2. After cooking, add rice vinegar and sesame oil to the rice and mix well.
Preparing Steak
  1. While the rice is cooking, season the steak with salt and pepper.
  2. Grill or pan-sear the steak until it reaches your desired doneness.
  3. Let the steak rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly.
Making the Spicy Cream Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Sriracha together. Adjust Sriracha for spice preference.
Assembling the Bowls
  1. Divide the seasoned rice into serving bowls.
  2. Top each bowl with sliced steak, avocado, cucumber, carrot, and green onions.
  3. Drizzle the spicy cream sauce over the top and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
