Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked rice Any type you prefer—white, brown, or jasmine.
  • 1 pound chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces Thighs are juicier, but breasts work well too.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce For the sauce.
  • 1/4 cup honey For the sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar Adds a punch of brightness.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Brings depth to the sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced Adds a fresh flavor.
  • 2 green onions, chopped For freshness in the dish.
  • sesame seeds For garnish.
  • your choice of vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, broccoli) Adds color and nutrition.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and ginger. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat and add your chicken pieces. Cook until they’re nicely browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken. Let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens, enveloping the chicken in that delightful glaze.
  4. Serve your sticky chicken over the warm, fluffy rice. Top with chopped green onions and sprinkle sesame seeds for that crunchy finish.
  5. Add your choice of vegetables for color and nutrition!

Notes

Consider using a wide bowl for presentation. Layer rice first, then chicken. Add a splash of sriracha for extra heat or pickled veggies on the side. Fresh herbs can brighten the flavors.
