Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour The backbone of any roll.
  • 1/4 cup sugar To sweeten the dough just right.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt A pinch makes all the difference.
  • 1 packet active dry yeast The magic ingredient for that fluffy rise.
  • 1/2 cup milk Use whole milk for richness.
  • 1/4 cup butter Softened for flavor.
  • 1 whole egg Adds richness and a lovely texture.
Filling Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, chopped Fresh, ripe strawberries are key.
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon The warm hug this roll embodies.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar For a nice caramel undertone.
Frosting Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese Because everything is better with frosting.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar To sweeten up that cream cheese.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by warming the milk and butter in a small saucepan until everything is melted, using gentle heat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add the milk and butter mixture along with the egg and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about five minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour.
Rolling and Baking
  1. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the strawberries, cinnamon, and brown sugar on top.
  2. Tightly roll the dough from one end to the other and slice into rolls.
  3. Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish and allow them to rise again for about 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Frosting
  1. Whip together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Once rolls are cool enough to handle, drizzle frosting over the top and serve warm.
