Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh herbs (sage and thyme)
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 stalks celery diced
  • 2 medium carrots diced
  • 4 cups stale bread cubes preferably overnight stale
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth as needed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add in the onion, celery, and carrots. Sauté until soft and aromatic.
  3. In a spacious bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables with the bread cubes, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  4. Gradually add broth to the mixture until it’s moist but not soggy.
  5. Form the mixture into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the exterior is golden brown.
Serving
  1. Serve warm alongside roasted turkey or chicken, or enjoy as an appetizer.

Notes
