Ingredients

Noodles
  • 8 oz noodles (like udon, rice noodles, or egg noodles) Feel free to experiment with different types of noodles.
Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic is recommended for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated Fresh ginger enhances the taste significantly.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili sauce Optional – for those who like it spicy.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • to taste Green onions, chopped For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook your noodles: Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook your noodles according to the package instructions. Once done, drain and set them aside.
  2. Heat the oil: In a large skillet or wok, warm the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Brown the beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Let it cook undisturbed for a few minutes to achieve a lovely brown color, then start breaking it apart with a spatula.
  4. Add garlic and ginger: Toss in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for about a minute until those beautiful aromas fill your kitchen.
  5. Create the sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sugar, and chili sauce if you're bringing the heat.
  6. Combine: Pour the sauce over the beef mixture and stir well to coat everything evenly.
  7. Mix in the noodles: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing everything together until the noodles are generously coated in that glossy sauce.
  8. Serve: Plate up your noodles hot, and don’t forget to sprinkle those vibrant chopped green onions on top.
